Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure refrigerator is unplugged and water supply is turned off.

  1. Locate ice maker installation area in freezer compartment.
  2. Connect water supply line: Attach ¼-inch tubing to water inlet valve on ice maker.
  3. Mount ice maker: Use provided screws to secure assembly to freezer wall.
  4. Connect electrical: Plug ice maker harness into refrigerator connector (if applicable).
  5. Turn on water supply and check for leaks.
  6. Plug in refrigerator and set ice maker control to ON position.

WARNING! Installation should be performed by a qualified technician. Ensure water line is properly connected to prevent leaks and water damage.

First-Time Setup & Operation

After installation, allow ice maker to begin its production cycle.

  1. Set control lever to ON position (usually marked "I").
  2. Initial cycle may take up to 24 hours to produce first batch of ice.
  3. Adjust ice cube size: Move size control lever to desired setting (Small/Large).
  4. Monitor ice bin: Shut-off arm will automatically stop production when bin is full.
  5. To manually stop production, move control lever to OFF position ("O").

CAUTION! Do not force any controls. Ensure freezer temperature is at or below 0°F (-18°C) for proper ice maker operation.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Primary controls located on ice maker assembly.

Control Lever: ON/OFF switch to activate or deactivate ice production.

Cube Size Selector: Adjustable lever to choose between small and large ice cubes.

Shut-Off Arm: Automatically rises when ice bin is full, stopping production cycle.

Manual Harvest (if equipped): Button or lever to initiate immediate harvest cycle for ice removal.

Indicator Light (on some models): Shows ice maker status (on, off, or harvest).

Connecting Water Supply

Proper water line connection is essential for operation.

  1. Turn off main water supply and refrigerator power.
  2. Connect ¼-inch copper or plastic tubing to cold water line using saddle valve or direct connection.
  3. Route tubing to refrigerator location, avoiding sharp bends or kinks.
  4. Connect tubing to ice maker water inlet valve; tighten compression fitting.
  5. Turn on water supply and check all connections for leaks.
  6. Flush water line by dispensing water through refrigerator water dispenser (if equipped) for 2-3 minutes.

Tip: Use only drinking water safe tubing. Ensure water pressure is within 20-120 psi range.

Ice Production Cycle

Automatic cycle consists of fill, freeze, and harvest phases.

  1. Fill: Water inlet valve opens, filling ice mold with precise amount of water.
  2. Freeze: Water freezes in mold (typically 2-3 hours depending on freezer temperature).
  3. Harvest: Thermostat senses frozen ice; heater warms mold slightly while ejector blades rotate to release ice cubes into storage bin.
  4. Reset: Cycle repeats automatically unless shut-off arm is raised (bin full) or control is set to OFF.

WARNING! Do not attempt to remove ice during harvest cycle. Keep fingers away from moving ejector blades.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures proper operation and ice quality.

  1. Turn ice maker control to OFF position.
  2. Remove ice bin and empty all ice.
  3. Clean ice bin with mild detergent and warm water; rinse thoroughly.
  4. Wipe ice maker exterior with damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners.
  5. For mineral deposit removal: Use manufacturer-approved ice maker cleaner following package instructions.
  6. Replace ice bin and set control back to ON position.

CAUTION! Never use sharp objects to remove ice from mold. Unplug refrigerator before performing any maintenance.
