Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.

  1. Empty dust cup: Press release button; empty contents into trash.
  2. Clean brush roll: Turn off and unplug; remove debris from brush roll ends.
  3. Check for blockages: Inspect hose, nozzle, and air passages if suction decreases.
  4. Replace filters: HEPA filter every 6-12 months; pre-motor filter every 3 months.

WARNING! Always unplug vacuum before performing maintenance.

Filtration System

HEPA filtration traps fine particles.

Filters: Pre-motor filter (washable) and HEPA filter (replaceable). Wash pre-motor filter every month under cold water; air dry completely before reinstalling. Replace HEPA filter when indicated or every 6-12 months. Order replacement filters from Kenmore or authorized dealers.
