Before You Begin
Verify the following before starting the installation process.
- Location: Ensure the installation site has adequate space, ventilation, and meets the required clearances.
- Cabinet Opening: Confirm the dimensions of the cabinet cutout match the specifications in Section 9.
- Power Supply: Verify a dedicated 240-volt, 40-amp circuit is available and properly grounded.
- Receiving Inspection: Unpack the range and inspect for any shipping damage. Do not install a damaged unit.
CAUTION! Save all packaging materials until the installation is complete and the appliance is working properly.
Tools & Materials Required
- Tools: Phillips screwdriver, Flat-head screwdriver, Adjustable wrench, Level, Tape measure, Wire strippers/cutters, Voltage tester.
- Materials: 4-wire power cord (if not supplied), UL-listed strain relief, Cable connector, Anti-tip bracket (included).
Step-by-Step Installation
Follow these steps in order for a proper installation.
- Prepare the Opening: Remove any old appliance and clean the cabinet space.
- Install Anti-Tip Bracket: Secure the provided anti-tip bracket to the floor or rear wall as per the template to prevent tipping.
- Route Power Cord: Feed the power cord through the access hole in the rear of the cabinet opening.
- Position the Range: Carefully slide the range into the opening, guiding the power cord through. Do not force.
- Make Electrical Connection: Proceed to Section 6 for detailed wiring instructions.
- Secure and Level: Once connected, ensure the range is level using the adjustable front legs. See Section 7.
Electrical Connection
DISCONNECT POWER AT THE MAIN CIRCUIT BREAKER BEFORE PROCEEDING.
- Remove the terminal block access cover on the rear of the range.
- Connect the power cord wires to the terminal block:
- Black (Hot) to terminal L1
- Red (Hot) to terminal L2
- White (Neutral) to terminal N
- Green (Ground) to terminal G or the grounding screw.
- Secure the strain relief and replace the access cover.
- Plug the cord into the dedicated outlet or connect directly to the junction box as per local code.
WARNING! All connections must be tight. A loose connection can cause overheating and fire.
Final Positioning & Leveling
After electrical connection, complete the physical installation.
- Check that the anti-tip bracket engages properly with the range's rear foot.
- Use a level on the cooktop surface. Adjust the front leveling legs by turning them clockwise to raise or counterclockwise to lower.
- Ensure the range is flush with adjacent cabinets and does not rock.
- Install any trim kits or filler panels if included with your model.
Initial Setup & Operation
With installation complete, restore power and prepare for first use.
- Turn the circuit breaker back ON.
- Set the clock by pressing the CLOCK button and using the number pad.
- Perform a burner test: Turn each surface element to HI and verify it heats up, then turns off correctly.
- Run the oven through a cleaning cycle (if applicable) or heat it to 350°F for 30 minutes to burn off manufacturing residues. Ventilate the area.
