Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove machine from packaging: Lift by the carrying handle, not the accessory box.
  2. Attach power cord: Plug into machine’s rear port, then into a 120V AC outlet.
  3. Install foot pedal: Connect to machine port, place on floor.
  4. Attach accessory box: Snap onto free arm or place nearby.
  5. Install needle: Use screwdriver to loosen needle clamp, insert needle flat side back, tighten.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during setup. Ensure workspace is clean and dry.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine; follow initial setup steps.

  1. Wind bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, guide through tension disc, wind onto bobbin.
  2. Insert bobbin: Drop into bobbin case, pull thread through slot and under tension spring.
  3. Thread upper thread: Follow numbered path on machine, use automatic needle threader.
  4. Raise presser foot and pull threads under foot toward back.

  6. Test sew on scrap fabric: Depress foot pedal gently to start sewing.

Basic Sewing Techniques

  3. Gently press foot pedal to start sewing.
  4. Guide fabric gently; do not push or pull.
  5. Use reverse at start and end to lock stitches.
  6. Raise presser foot and pull fabric to rear to remove.

Tip: Practice on scrap fabric first. Always use the correct presser foot for the stitch type.

Advanced Stitches & Features

Supports buttonholes, blind hem, stretch stitches, and decorative patterns.

  1. Buttonhole: Attach buttonhole foot, select buttonhole stitch, place fabric, start sewing (automatic 4-step process).
  2. Blind Hem: Use blind hem foot, select blind hem stitch, fold fabric appropriately.
  3. Decorative Stitches: Select pattern, adjust width/length as desired.
  4. Zipper Installation: Use zipper foot, baste zipper area, stitch close to zipper teeth.
  5. Free Arm: Remove accessory box to access free arm for sleeves and cuffs.

WARNING! Do not force fabric or change settings while needle is in fabric. Turn handwheel to raise needle first.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug machine before maintenance. Regular cleaning prevents lint buildup.

  1. Remove needle plate screws, lift plate to access bobbin area.
  2. Use small brush to remove lint from feed dogs, bobbin case, and hook.
  3. Oil moving parts as per manual instructions (use sewing machine oil only).
  4. Wipe exterior with dry cloth.
